The infamous, “Wicked Witch Of The West”, in the 1939 film, “The Wizard Of Oz”, inspired author Gregory Maguire to write a book based on her story. Why was she Green? Was she really Wicked and if so, why ?
This book inspired composer and lyricist, Stephen Schwartz, (creator of, “Godspell”, “Pippin” and “Prince Of Egypt”), to create the musical, “Wicked”. This year, 2026, the incredibly successful show celebrates 20 years in London’s West End and has been running on Broadway since 2003.
